Activating Outside is a workshop exploring how we utilize outside spaces of organizations. In this workshop, participants will work together to brainstorm and act out programming for outdoor spaces near the conference.

Session Information

Format: Half-day workshop (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)

Fee: 0

Uniqueness: The workshop will take place in Rocky Mountain Power Plaza and SLC MOCA. Participants will work together to make programs that they will act out.

Objectives:

  1. Get people outside and moving. 
  2. Participants leave with a plan for using the outdoor spaces of their organization. 
  3. Share methods of community engagement in outside spaces between participants.

Engagement:

  1. Participants would use provided materials to map out spaces, place cones, and image programming the space of a day.  a. Resources: Cones, dry-erase signs, clipboards, worksheet, pencils, colorful ribbon

Scalability: We chose 2 locations, one smaller, and the other a larger arts org so that there is some variation in the examples we will be using for the workshop.
