Wild West: Exploring Wild Ideas in Public Programming

Wild West is a workshop that explores the boundary pushing programs in organizations, the tools that were used in order to make the programs happen, and resource sharing on how to get your wild ideas through institutions. The workshop will take the form of a giant collective mural of our Wildest Ideas.
Session Information
Format: Half-day workshop (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
Fee: none
Uniqueness: The workshop will produce large scale ‘Wild Ideas’ murals while sharing tools that participants used to make their ideas happen under institutional oversight.
Objectives:
- Learn about what other museum professionals are doing that is boundary pushing
- Illuminate tools used to accomplish wild programming
- Brainstorm plans about how to use some of the tools discussed on ideas that have yet to be implemented.
Engagement: Participants would use provided materials to draw out a collective mural. They would then use sticky notes, to move around ideas and share personal experiences in programming.
