Donor Cultivation at All Levels
ID: WMA2026_566
Track: Other
Donor cultivation is an ongoing, and deeply critical, component of development work. In this session, we will explore the challenges, constraints, and opportunities surrounding building and maintaining these important relationships. After a rapid-fire series of short presentations in which development professionals from a variety of institutions share their own successful strategies for engaging donors, attendees will be invited to ask questions, engage in broader conversation, and think deeply about their own work.
Session Information
Format: Regular session/panel (roundtable, single speaker, etc.)
Uniqueness: By replacing static lectures with rapid-fire insights and collaborative dialogue, it mirrors real-world relationship building, fostering immediate, actionable peer-to-peer learning and strategic reflection.
Objectives:
Attendees will:
- Feel fresh motivation and inspiration regarding their own donor cultivation efforts
- Gather new ideas for donor cultivation initiatives at their own institutions
- Build their network of development colleagues
Engagement: Attendees will be invited to share the concerns and challenges they face in donor cultivation, and those concerns will be discussed in the latter part of the session. Additionally, attendees will be invited to share their own ideas and success stories as we end the session with open conversation.
Relationship to Theme:
Audience
Audiences: Development and Membership Officers

Scalability: This session includes representatives from museums of various types, sizes, and locations. Our intent is to include diverse voices in our presentation, so that all attendees may find relevance.
