Physical security walked into a bar… and got carded! Museum security is no joke but it can be enjoyable. In this session, museum operations and security personnel will work with audience members to trouble shoot challenges in real time. Drop your own public safety quandary in the hat and see if it gets chosen.

Session Information

Format: Regular session/panel (roundtable, single speaker, etc.)

Uniqueness: Museum public safety and security is a huge contemporary issue, and this session will use group work to examine real challenges.

Objectives: Shared understanding of the scale and scope of museum security issues and planning; ideas for solutions; resources for assistance and support

Engagement: Audience will be engaged in discussions, idea exchanges, and problem solving. A real issue will be pulled from a hat and the group, led by the speakers, will look at solutions, tips, tricks, etc. Like a real emergency situation, it will be a surprise but allow folks to share ideas for a positive outcome.
