ID: WMA2026_527

Track:

I will introduce Post Provenance and demonstrate Resonance Indexing, a forward-looking framework that reimagines how museums analyze, contextualize, and communicate collection histories. Participants will explore practical applications, from AI-assisted archival analysis to audience-driven interpretation strategies, enabling more transparent, inclusive, and future-proof collection stewardship.

Session Information

Format: Regular session/panel (roundtable, single speaker, etc.)

Uniqueness: Resonance Indexing transforms traditional provenance by integrating technology, narrative depth, and community engagement, offering museums a novel, actionable framework for 21st-century collection strategy.

Objectives:

By the end of this session, participants will:

  1. Understand the principles of Post Provenance and how Resonance Indexing reframes collection histories beyond traditional provenance narratives.
  2. Gain hands-on experience applying Resonance Indexing to diverse collection types, learning to identify narratives of historical, cultural, and emotional resonance.
  3. Develop actionable strategies for integrating AI-assisted analysis, community engagement, and multi-dimensional interpretation into their own museum practices, creating more inclusive, transparent, and future-ready collection frameworks.
  4. This session equips participants with the conceptual and practical tools to lead digital transformation in provenance research, enhancing institutional capacity for innovative stewardship, audience engagement, and cross-institutional collaboration.

Engagement: Participants will analyze sample objects using Resonance Indexing, discuss findings with peers, and co-develop strategies for applying the framework to their own collections.
